An interesting introduction to evolution and the equations that govern it. The book gets started with an introduction to the concept of evolution and how replication, mutation, and selection, affect it. Every simple mechanism that is in action in nature, is modeled using differential equations/5. This book offers a collection of approximately 2, nonlinear ordinary differential equations and includes the equation, the answer or important results, and references. Nonlinear phenomena have become a dominant theme in the sciences and this thoroughly up-to-date book is a useful research tool for applied mathematicians and engineers.

The Leroy P. Steele Prizes are awarded every year by the American Mathematical Society, for distinguished research work and writing in the field of there has been a formal division into three categories. The prizes have been given since , from a bequest of Leroy P. Steele, and were set up in honor of George David Birkhoff, William Fogg Osgood and William Caspar.   In , Leah McEwen and I (1) wrote an article about how the IUPAC Gold Book (2) was an exemplar digital asset for IUPAC. As we come up on the centenary of IUPAC, here is a brief discussion of the new Gold Book website, how the Gold Book fits this ‘exemplar’ moniker even better now, and the evolution of the Gold Book over the next few years.

The book is an introduction to abstract semi-linear evolution equations of parabolic type, with special emphasis on periodic problems. Throughout, it makes use of the theory of interpolation spaces rather than fractional power spaces. nonlinear equations related to some current research in the evolution of wave equations. notes are a compendium of topics and examples that I have used in teaching notes upon which this book was based. This applies to the set of notes used.
